Domaine Francois Gaunoux
Chateau Gaunoux has been exploited by the Gaunoux family, installed in Côte d’Or, for several centuries. The domain, of approximately 10 hectares, covers Meursault, Volnay, Pommard, Beaune and, since 1996, Puligny-Montrachet. It is exploited by François Gaunoux and his daughter Claudine Gaunoux. Since January 2013, the estate is the owner of Meursault Clos Des Meix Chavaux Monopole, with a surface of 3,47 ha. This mixture of tradition and modernity, François Gaunoux transmitted it perfectly to his daughter, Claudine: "We are proud of the quality of our vineyard and the age of our plots. Replantings are rare and sustained, which avoids making light wines. The harvest is exclusively carried out by hand, with pickers. The second fermentation takes 15 to 18 months for red and white wines. They are filtered and bottled at the Château. Nowadays, one still finds in our cellars wines of the beginning of the century.
