Grape: 90% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir
"(AG=92) Another stellar wine, the NV Brut Rose hits all the right notes. The flavors are bright and sculpted, while sweet, floral aromatics add an attractive upper register. A wine of tension and pulsating minerality, the Varnier's Rose is sure to find many admirers. The blend is 90% Chardonnay from Avize and Cramant and 10% Pinot from Ambonnay, 60% 2009 and 40% 2010, a particularly fortuitous combination of sites, varieties and vintages. This is a terrific showing from Denis Varnier. Disgorged June 2014. Dosage10 grams per liter.
(WS=92) A vinous version, firm and well-knit, with graphite and spice accents to the creamy palate of strawberry p’¢te de fruit, glazed apricot tart, pastry cream and lemon curd flavors. Hints of toasted coconut and grated ginger show on the expressive finish. Disgorged September 2013. Drink now through 2020.(RP=91) The pale pink colored NV Brut Ros’© Grand Cru (LR2012) is a round, fresh and fruity fizz based on 90% C’‚te de Blancs Chardonnay and 10% Ambonnay Pinot Noir red wine, all Grand Cru. Red and black currant aromas along with blueberry and ripe blackberry flavors on the nose lead to a full flavored, elegant and charming palate. It has a long, intense and well-structured finish. This is an in the sunshine wine that can also be served with food. It has a lot of Pinot character."
